At least seven government soldiers have been killed in the northern Balkh province of Afghanistan in the attack by the extremist Taliban group.
The Afghan Defence Ministry said the soldiers were killed when a Taliban attack edited a military base in Dolatabad area of Balkh province early this morning.
The base was attended by Afghan army and members of the National Directorate of Security (NDS). NDS is Afghanistan’s main intelligence agency.
The Afghan Defence Ministry said in a statement that seven soldiers were killed in today’s Taliban attack and three others were injured. Besides, three MEMBERS of the NDS were injured. The Taliban has already claimed responsibility for the attack.
Reuters, quoting the Governor of Daulatabad, reported that 15 people were killed in the attack. A day earlier, a US soldier was killed in another Taliban attack in the province of Kunduz.
